SSC Stenographer Selection Process

To get selected for the SSC Stenographer post, candidates have to go through the following stages-

  • Written Exam
  • Typing Shorthand
  • Merit List

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is as follows –

  1. SSC Stenographer written exam will be multiple choice type.
  2. The total time duration of the exam is 2 hours and 2 hours 40 minutes for visually handicapped candidates.
  3. The questions will be in both English and Hindi languages ​​except Part-III.
  4. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  5. Minimum qualifying marks in Computer Based Examination are as follows – General (UR): 30%, OBC / EWS: 25% and All Other Categories (SC, ST, PWD, ESM, Etc): 20%

Note: Candidates who qualified the written examination will be called for Computer Skill Test.

Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for SSC Stenographer Skill Test for final selection. In the skill test exam, the candidates will have to give a ten-minute typing test on computer with a speed of 100 words per minute for grade C candidates and 80 words per minute for grade D candidates. SSC Stenographer final result will be released after the written exam and skill test, and candidates who qualify both these exams will be entitled to an appointment letter.
